Sol Y Canto
La Nueva Canción: Latin Music of Protest and Commitment
Wednesday, September 25, 2019 - 11:30am – 1:30pm
14W-111, Killian Hall
As part of the ERG’s community building and networking focus, the MIT Latino Employee Resource Group (Latino ERG) invites you to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Sol y Canto. Sol y Canto’s mission is to create music and performances that move, delight, and connect individuals to each other – Hispanic and non-Hispanic – and to the richness of Latin American culture through the shared joyful experience of music and poetry, and to connect all to hopes and visions of a better world.
Co-Sponsored by: Music & Theater Arts, Institute Community & Equity Office, and Hermanas Unidas.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Food may not be brought into Killian Hall. Therefore, please arrive on time to have lunch at 11:30 a.m. and then take full advantage of the presentation starting at 12 noon.
The event host wants to let you know about some accessibility considerations:
The room is wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms are gendered (there are no gender-neutral restrooms in our building) and wheelchair accessible, so please feel free to use the bathroom in which you feel most comfortable.
Please don’t hesitate to email firstname.lastname@example.org if there's anything you need to participate fully in this event, or if you have any questions or concerns.
