Hochschild, Professor Emerita of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley, will discuss her new book, Strangers in Their Own Land: Anger and Mourning on the American Right. Audience discussion will follow and a light lunch will be served. Hochschild, one of the most influential sociologists of her generation, is the author of nine books, including The Second ShiftThe Time Bindand The Outsourced Self.
